I get out the video cassette with the label "Diane's TV Tape". I pop it in the VCR and rewind it. I set the correct date and time on the machine, and program it to begin recording ten minutes early and end ten minutes after the show should be over.
We leave for the film fest. We see the presentation of the Savannah Film Festival Achievement in Cinema Award to Arthur Penn; Penn holds the award for two seconds, and then hands right back to the presenter because it looks to weigh about the same as an anvil. We then watch Bonnie & Clyde. Questions and answers with Arthur Penn follow the screening, he recounts working with Marlon Brando and Dustin Hoffman and Dede Allen. We clap, and leave.
Drive home, stopping on the way home for milk and other essential foodstuffs.
Sit down to watch the highly anticipated season premiere of 24, and find out that the tape DID NOT RECORD!
There appears to be something wrong with the tape. When Kris played it, it's all garbled, and in the first 20 seconds stops itself. So the VCR probably tried to record and gave up.
DOH!
Does anyone know if Fox is going to rerun it before next week's new episode? I couldn't find any info about it on the official 24 website.
