Many of you astute readers have pointed some flaws in the site design, and I have found many more myself. I am currently making an attempt to fix said "problems" to "satisfy" "everyone".
Thanks for all your input, and "Thpppppt".
So, for the new version, I wanted a more seasonal feel to the site; entire Fall Leaves background. Nice, huh? I made that myself. It was actually 4" square advertisement in October issue of Sunset magazine, which I scanned and then recreated entirely in Photoshop, just to see if I could. I think it turned out amazingly photo realistic, if I do say so myself. And I do.
Phil kindly pointed out that you can't -see- the background what with all this silly content nonsense going on, but he quickly discovered that he could set it as his background image, or something. I'll add it to the "extras" section here in a bit.
Tim will find that the default blue links are gone (for now, maybe they'll be back for winter, muhahaha!).
Segue I read today that Bush's 1-hr casual interview appearance on Fox last night came in dead last in the ratings. What a surprise, I say. Actually, we stumbled into it while flipping channels, and paused for a few moments.
I think it's interesting that we really don't know that much about Bush, The Man. I mean, we knew more stuff than we cared to about Clinton, from his jogs to McDonalds to his flowery escapades. We really don't hear that much personal about Bush, and it's possible that that's because about 80% of his presidency has been spent on the war path.
The two or so minutes I watched of the interview was Bush standing on the (east?) lawn on Clinton's freshly installed jogging path. The interviewer asked GW if he ever used the path, and Bush said that he did run not because he had a bad "meniscus" in his leg. (I think he meant something else, like bursa? I don't know, I'm not a doctor, and obviously, neither is he.)
Not at all surprised that this wasn't the number one rated show on last night. After all, Bush regularly interrupts our programming with his public addresses, and then it's on every friggin' channel. You either watch, or find something else to do. When Bush does an exclusive interview on Fox, do you think we're going to turn off HBO or whatever else is on to see what he has to say? I think not.
I tried to find the transcript of the interview online, but have not been successful. Mostly I wanted to check on what he said about his "meniscus", but I suspect things like that are exactly why the transcript isn't available.
When the next election comes, I'm voting for the guy who promises to give the fewest state of the union addresses. About one a year is all I can take.
